The choices we make in our everyday lives are affected by our beliefs and by the people around us. When we talk about the challenges one can face while trying to live a vegan lifestyle, people often overlook a big factor; the judgment of the people we are surrounded by, friends and family alike. Parents of young people, in particular, might find the vegan lifestyle hard to accept and support as it is still a fairly new concept and not widely understood. People might comment that you are being picky or difficult or may believe that you think that you are better than them and are condemning their lifestyle. There are also people who think that a vegan diet must be boring and bland and might make fun of it. There is an array of stereotypes that stop people from becoming or staying vegan.
